Off ice, or "dry land," training is one of the most important aspects to becoming a high level hockey player. Training to become quick and explosive is crucial in hockey. You have to attain the desire and discipline to put the time and effort into working on quick feet and power movements, so that on the ice you can react in a speed that is incomparable to your opponents. Leg strength is another key ingredient to success in hockey. With the majority of your movements being in the lower body and obliques, you must strengthen those muscles and movements.
